Field guides / When the plan breaks

I’m down. What does a rescuer need?

Read the state on your own screen. A character who can move, an incapacitated character awaiting help and a character already regenerated need different next steps. This page concerns the game only.

What to check

  1. Find the time and location you can verify

Record the displayed timer if any, the nearest named location and how to reach you: outside, a deck or room, or a level inside a facility. Say whether a door, elevator, hostile NPC or active firefight blocks the approach. RSI’s medical guide describes the game's treatment and rescue choices.

  2. Choose how to ask

Use the in-game help option shown, ask a trusted party member, or read Medrunner’s service description and its terms before making your own volunteer request. Give a responder a rendezvous and access route in an agreed private channel. Do not post account credentials or your group's ongoing location publicly.

  3. Confirm a responder and reassess

Distinguish “I sent a request,” “someone accepted” and “someone is on site.” Check for a response on the channel you chose. If your timer or location changes, update that person through the same channel. Cancel an outstanding request yourself if you regenerate or no longer need help.

Worked example

The marker is right but the route is wrong

A marker puts the medic above you on the surface. You are one level below a locked entrance. Give the entrance landmark and the obstacle, and ask whether they can use another approach. An accurate straight-line distance is not proof there is a reachable path or time to make it.

Proceed or hold

Proceed when
A responder has acknowledged you, understands the access problem, and you choose to wait within the time shown.
Hold when
No one has accepted, the route is unsafe or the timer no longer fits. Reassess the in-game alternatives; this guide has not dispatched anyone.
